Tri-County 2024 Rain Barrel Sale Was a Success

Beatriss Calhoun, Water Resources Extension Agent

The recent Tri-County 2024 Rain Barrel Sale went very well this year! Nearly 200 rain barrels have found new homes in our community. This two-day event, made possible through a collaborative effort between Summerville’s Stormwater Management team, Charleston County Public Works, Rainwater Solutions, and Clemson Extension, showcased the power of partnerships in promoting sustainable water management practices. Through this partnership, the rain barrels were made available at a discounted price, making them more accessible to residents interested in conserving water and reducing stormwater runoff. Rainwater harvesting can play a vital role in mitigating the impact of stormwater runoff on our local ecosystems.

Please visit Clemson Extension Home and Garden Information Center or Clemson University Land-Grant Press for more educational resources to take a deeper look into sustainable water management practices.
