Laura Lee Rose – Urban Horticulture Agent -Beaufort and Colleton Counties

Laura Lee Rose is the Urban Horticulture Agent in Beaufort and Colleton Counties. She has been with Clemson Extension since September 2006.

She attended Mary Baldwin College in Staunton, Virginia, for two years before transferring to the USC Baccalaureate Nursing program in 1968. She completed most of the clinical courses.

Laura Lee has worked in the Horticulture Industry, self-employed, and in retail since 1986. She got her associate degree in Horticulture and then attended Clemson for her B.S. in Ornamental Horticulture.

She answers questions about various things in the area of Urban Horticulture: soils, landscaping, gardening, writing articles for the local papers, and coordinates local Master Gardener programs. She is also the facilitator for the Beaufort Senior Leadership Program.

One of Laura Lee’s most memorable experiences in Extension was working at the Governor’s Mansion in Columbia as part of a First Lady’s request to have help from the Horticulture team.
