New Year, New 4-H Activities in Clarendon County

Alyssa Lynne Jones, 4-H Youth Development Agent

We have had a great 2024 in Clarendon County. This year, we’ve already developed 3 WHEP teams, had a couple of livestock club meetings, a Bake-Off competition, and two new day camps are already planned.

The Bake Off was successful. We had six individual competitors and two team competitors. The ages spanned from 17 all the way down to 5. This competition specifically was for quick breads. Our next bake-off competition will likely be for desserts, including cakes and brownies. We will have these quarterly.

Our first-day camp of 2024 will be a STEM Day held in March. The second-day camp will also be held in March and will be all about pollinators. Participants will take home a Starter pollinator garden and a few decorations for their pollinator garden.

Please be on the lookout for updates about Legislative Day, state projects, county projects, and day camps.
