Shannon Herndon – Senior 4-H Agent – Bamberg & Barnwell Counties

Shannon Herndon is a Senior 4-H Agent with Bamberg & Barnwell Counties. She has worked for Clemson for 30 years. She received her master’s from Clemson University in Agricultural Education and her undergraduate degree from Presbyterian College in Psychology.
She is an experienced agent in 4-H Youth Development. Her role for Clemson is to coordinate the 4-H Programs in Bamberg and Barnwell Counties. Her job includes 4-H clubs, school enrichment programs, special interest programs, and managing volunteers. Her favorite part about her job is watching children and young adults learn new skills and share them with others.
Shannon’s most memorable moment was in 2008. South Carolina 4-H celebrated 100 years of youth development. She approached nationally renowned artist Jim Harrison and asked him to paint a 4-H Barn painting to commemorate the centennial. His “4-H Barn” prints have sold nationwide.
